McAllen, Texas
Rebeca Gamborino is an interdisciplinary artist whose movement projects emerge from her perspective as a woman, immigrant, Latina, and mother. This lived perspective is at the core of her pedagogy and choreographic work, in which she employs dance-making as a type of activism. She has taught dance across Texas for the past eighteen years and has presented her work nationally and internationally on stage and screen. She recently received her MFA from Texas Woman’s University and moved from Denton to McAllen with her partner and son to join the Department of Dance at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley as an Assistant Professor of Dance.
