In September 2000, the Bailando Dance Festival was first initiated as a part of Corpus Christi Concert Ballet's Dance Initiative, encouraging local dancers to perform their works of art at the Cole Park amphitheater in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Today, Bailando International, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is a full three day event, featuring evening dance concerts and master classes in a variety of styles, all held on the island campus of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Bailando International continues to provide the South Texas community with culturally diverse works of dance performed by companies and individuals from areas throughout North and Central America.
