This is an open-level flamenco (Spanish dance) dance technique class, which aims to expand the understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of Flamenco and Spanish dance aesthetics, expressive qualities, improvisation skills, and repertoire. The class includes a warm-up, flamenco dance vocabulary, rhythmic patterns exploration, theatre dance technique, repertoire, choreography, and improvisation skills.

Latin Jazz is an exciting and energetic fusion dance style guaranteed to get your heart pumping! This class brings together various Latin social dances like salsa, cumbia, and samba with commercial jazz dance to create a unique hybrid form. In addition to experiencing the dance, the class will explore the origins of these dances and their historical context. We will start by breaking down the steps and rhythms of Latin social dance and then combine them with jazz steps to create a dance routine set to pop music – similar to a Latin Music Video. No prior experience in Latin dance is required, and all moves can be modified to suit the needs of the participants.
Presented by the Haus of Glitter Dance Company, this dynamic workshop offers a journey through history and movement, exploring the rich heritage, resilience, and innovation embedded in Black, African, Afro-Latinx, and Latinx artistic traditions. Through interactive dance, storytelling, and engaging discussions, participants will uncover the deep cultural connections within African-descended communities across the globe.
This class is designed to be an immersive learning experience, connecting historical narratives with the embodied expression of dance. We will trace the roots and evolution of various Afro-Latinx dance techniques, acknowledging the ancestral wisdom and embodied histories passed down through generations. Participants will witness demonstrations and gain insights into the historical context of dances like bachata, merengue, hip hop + breaking, Vogue + Ballroom, and more, understanding how the collective movement of ancestral lineages has influenced modern dance trends. We offer a range of knowledge in different styles and would be open and willing to focus on one dance style such as West African, Vogue, Hip Hop + Breaking or Afro-Latinx Contemporary. We also are available to provide multiple sessions to encompass all of the styles and would be willing to discuss further.

This is an intermediate level ballet class designed to bring out the inner ballet dancer in you. In this class we will focus on the whys of ballet and how dancers can use ballet class to elevate their competence in other dance forms. If you have found yourself uncomfortable in ballet class this class is for you. If you are a lover of ballet this class is for you. If you want to be challenged in a ballet class where you can move freely without “ballet baggage” this class is for you.
Class draws from the principles of Limón and Humphrey, offering an in-depth exploration of fall and recovery. We examine how our weight, attention to oppositional forces, and intention create a dynamic balance between yielding to and shaping space and time. Often, we explore how these tools can be applied within a contemporary movement framework, bridging the history of these techniques into today's time.
The Countertechnique® class is a contemporary dance technique class. It stretches, coordinates and strengthens the body, making the dancer sweat, build stamina and really move. The class starts with a recurring set of exercises, allowing dancers to investigate the Countertechnique® principles in detail. The second half of the class consists of changing components, working towards luscious movement combinations and jumping at the end. The Countertechnique® class results in dancers using less energy, losing their fear of taking risks and gaining speed in changing direction.

This tap class is designed for tap lovers of varying levels! Focusing on elements of rhythm technique, musicality, and clear footwork, this class will include center exercises that build stamina, across the floor traveling sequences, and group choreography to build community support!
Dancers can expect class to be taught at a beginner-intermediate level, assuming dancers know basic tap vocabulary and fundamental technique. Even if this is your first class, all are welcome!

Urging the dancer to develop ownership of personal style, my class asks, “What do you want to be known for, and how can you show it through your dance?” My class utilizes multiple jazz styles and influences. It focuses on exploring body language and the intensity with which we use effort to enhance our awareness of self-expression through performance and technique.

Floorwork changes the body’s relationship with gravity , and requires dancers to navigate between higher and lower levels(going in and out of the floor) as well as certain more athletic power moves . It allows dancers to increase their versatility and movement efficiency. Relating floorwork to more technical movement may help students understand how to transition to the ground.
The class utilizes simple movement patterns that involve breathing, speed and the release of energy throughout the body in order to activate the relationship between the center and the joints, moving in and out of the ground more efficiently by maintaining a centered state.

CholoRock is movement and choreography that celebrates the Mexican - American experience through the exploration of cultural movement patterns, qualities and dynamics that challenge our understanding of Western modern and contemporary dance. In this class we will explore the Power of Representation in Dance. We will learn how to understand Dynamic Range regarding our energy and efforts. We will engage in movement phrases that explore virtuosity in individual dance and partnering. The process will be based on the principles of CholoRock: Dancing with Gratitude, Empathy, Taking Up Space, Solidarity, and Autonomy.
