Jennifer Salter, Dance Professor at San Jacinto College, earned her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Dance from Sam Houston State University. She has worked extensively as a choreographer and performer in the Houston area with Aimed Dance, Frame Dance, The Pilot Dance Project, Ashley Horn Nott, and Dancepatheatre, as well as presented dance films locally and nationally. Her artistic endeavors have also led her to photography and graphic design, and a partnership with Frame Dance Company to develop curriculum and instructional videos in screen dance for HISD’s middle school dance programs. She has been featured in the “Inspiring Stories” series in Voyage Houston Magazine and served as a panelist for Houston Arts Alliance. She was commissioned to set her work, “Slow Vacancy”, at Washington & Lee University in 2024, and has Co-Directed the Artists for Hope International Dance Film Festival since 2020. Currently, she is serving as a committee member for the National Dance Education Organization and developing curriculum for San Jacinto College’s Certification of Technology in Dance Instruction.
