Cynthia (she/her) is a Chicana artist that was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Her skillset includes training in acting, singing, dancing, and some puppeteering. She’s received a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from Sam Houston State University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance from the University of Texas at El Paso, and an Associate of Arts Degree from El Paso Community College. Her dance training includes over 25 years of experience in styles such as Tap, Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Folklorico, Flamenco, and Aerial Silk. Cynthia has taught various levels and styles of dance at San Jacinto College, Houston Community College, Sam Houston State University, The Institute of Contemporary Dance, TUTS Humphreys School for Musical Theatre, Main Street Theatre, Claire School of Dance, The Houston Metropolitan Dance Center, and The British Ballet Academy. Cynthia has also had work presented at the Latino/a/x Contemporary Dance Festival, American College Dance Association, Comedy Dance Festival, El Zócalo Festival, Ten Tiny Dances, Best of Fringe Fest, and Bailando Dance Festival. She has had the pleasure of dancing for artists such as Marlana Doyle, Sean Curran, Adam Castañeda, Amy Barnes, Erin Reck, Dionne Noble, Ayan Felix, Dorianne Castillo-Rivera, Andrea Vazquez-Aguirre, and Myron Nadel. Credits include: My Friend the Library music video (choreographer), Panto: Alicia in Wonderland (choreographer, Bonus Alicia), The Spongebob Musical (co-choreographer), The Moonlit Princess (world premiere), Innominate (world premiere), Cabaret, Mamma Mia, Chess, In The Heights, Monty Python’s Spamalot, West Side Story, Singin' In The Rain, The Producers, VIVA! El Paso, and The Texas Renaissance Festival. Cynthia has a love for all things art and embraces her theatrical and collaborative voice as a part of her creative soul.
